What do I receive when I sponsor?

A photo and short personal history of your child as introduction
Drawings, school reports, regular photo updates
The opportunity to correspond with your child
A history of the child's native country
Regular updates on the school in general including future development plans
The satisfaction of knowing that without your contribution the child would not be educated

£15 per month pays for the child's education,

Three meals a day, a room in our boarding facilities, clothing and all medical care. Without our sponsors we cannot function. Child sponsorship is important to Let Us Shine for two reasons. Firstly in a world of many NGO's and charities it is important to us that our projects are sustainable and can last the entirety of our children's education. Secondly, we see it as a bridging link between our supporters in the UK and the children we help. We welcome any of our supporters to visit our projects in Ghana but for those who cant, sponsorship gives a very real and constant update of children truly in need of help.

Child Sponsorship is the ONLY source of regular income for Let Us Shine and it is often the ONLY hope for a child to flourish, grow and learn in a safe environment. Please help them to secure a successful future for themselves and their families. Please help them to shine.

How much of my £15 goes to Africa? - Unlike most charities the full £15 goes to Africa and towards your child's welfare. This will cover school costs, teachers salaries, food, medical and also development of their education. We have no expenditure out of Ghana and no staff in the UK are paid any salary.

Can I write to my sponsored child? - Yes! We are happy for sponsors to write to their child however we to appreciate that not all sponsors will be able to do this. When you set up your account we will give you an address that you can send mail to. Your child will write back to you as their writing develops or with help from a teacher as for most this is their first instance of formal education

Can I visit my child? - Let Us Shine can arrange for you to visit your child's country, region, village and school should you so wish and we have had many sponsors who have done this.
