Hawa Awampah

Hawa is a native of Kpandai and is 'mother' to all our girls at the school. She lives with them and takes care of all of their well being, healthcare and developmental needs.

She is also our head cook and supervises two other cooks that work to provide 3 nutritional meals each day for the girls.

Hawa has previous experience working with International Organisations and has healthcare training allowing her to manage the vaccinations needed and minor ailments any of the girls may have. She consults a local doctor if anything more serious arises. Hawa makes sure the girls uniforms are always clean, the chores are done and the cuts and scrapes are bandaged. She can usually be found in the evening leading the singing and dancing with the girls!

Hawas husband Daniel is one of a few fully trained teachers in Kpandai and had a consultancy role with our school whilst teaching at a senior level with the local high school.
