Fiona spoke to the Club during the summer of 2006 and the members were so impressed by her commitment that the Club decided to offer support in raising funds to build the school. In July 2007 a very successful cruise down the River Clyde on the Waverley was supported by Rotarians from several clubs and a total of £7600 was raised. This allowed two classrooms to be built and accommodation refurbished for about forty girl boarders.

The increasing size of the school role meant that more boarding facilities were required and in December 2008, following a year long fund raising effort by one of its members, the Club presented Fiona with a cheque for £6750. This provided the money for the building of Kilbride House, a one hundred bed dormitory, which was officially opened on 26 June 2009.

In order to raise further funds the Club, in January 2009, organised a table top curling competition for the Let Us Shine Trophy. This was won by Rutherglen Rotary Club, whose members donated £2500 in March 2009. The competition has now become an annual fund raiser involving local Rotary Clubs.

Other donations have been received from Strathaven and Kittoch Rotary clubs; and Eastwood Rotary Club generously sponsors two of the girls at Kpandai
